Can I install a home security system myself?
Yes, although a professionally installed system has many advantages. Most professional security systems come with monitoring - this means that if your alarms go off, they will be notified and they can contact the police, send a security officer or give you a call to see if everything is alright. Is pepper spray legal?

Is it legal to carry a knife for defense?

Especially if you don' t use the gun recreationally it is likely to sit idle for long periods of time and over time moisture and changes in temperature can possibly affect the cartridges (although it is unlikely).
